Haskap, Lonicera caerulea, is a small northern fruit with purple flesh, adapted to the boreal territory of the North Shore and prized in Japan, where its name means ‘berry of long life’.
It has a unique and complex taste, often associated with black currants, blueberries and raspberries.
Ferme Manicouagan, in Pointe-Lebel, a leader in the production of Haskap in Québec. The family estate also grows strawberries, raspberries, corn, sea buckthorn, as well as forage crops.
